On January 17th, 2024, the URWAN (Urban Regenerative Water Avant-garde) project embarked on its journey with the Kick-off and 1st Steering Committee Meeting. Domenico Alfieri, Mayor of Paliano and ANCI Lazio’s Delegate for Environment, warmly welcomed participants, stressing the urgency of tackling ecological transition and climate change through innovative initiatives like URWAN.
The event witnessed insightful introductions from all partners, providing a diverse perspective. Project Coordinator Andrea Vignoli delivered a comprehensive project overview, outlining the roadmap ahead. Essential project documents and management structures received approval, laying the groundwork for efficient operation.
The Steering Committee established robust governance procedures and mapped out timelines for forthcoming activities, including pilot projects in Italy, Portugal, and Cyprus.
The journey continues with the next meeting scheduled for April 2024 in Ferla, Italy, where collaborative efforts will further advance urban sustainability and resilience.
