The Start Park Guidelines

The Start Park guidelines support communities in co-designing Green-Blue Infrastructure (GBI) to help cities mitigate and adapt to extreme climate events. They offer a replicable approach for creating green spaces that build climate resilience while empowering citizens, households, and local communities.

The guidelines promote the creation of inclusive spaces where residents and experts collaborate to shape both the physical infrastructure and educational activities to raise awareness on climate impacts. The resulting GBI serve as practical models of climate adaptation, drawing on successful practices from leading cities, such as sustainable urban drainage systems (SuDS), efficient water management, and urban gardens.
