On 9 June 2026, the final StartPark event took place at the School of Cuba – Escola Básica Fialho de Almeida.
The event showcased the results of the co-design process and the masterplan developed for the school playground, reflecting the ideas and contributions gathered throughout the participatory process with the school community.
The proposed transformation of the school environment integrates Nature-Based Solutions and climate-resilient approaches, contributing to the creation of greener, more sustainable and more resilient spaces for students and the wider school community.
As part of the event, the school also celebrated the raising of the Eco-Schools Green Flag, followed by a cultural performance of the children.
The StartPark co-design results were presented on site, with the project masterplan displayed at the school, highlighting the connection between participatory design, environmental education, and the regeneration of school spaces.
The event marked an important milestone in the URWAN intervention at the School of Cuba, bringing together the outcomes of the co-design process and reinforcing the role of the school community in shaping a more sustainable and climate-resilient learning environment.
