On 22-23 September 2026, URWAN partners will gather in Ragusa and Ferla (Sicily, Italy) for a project meeting and co-design workshop, hosted by SVIMED.
Over two days, the URWAN Enabler Pack — the Catalogue, Checklist and Training materials validated during the pilot phase — will be presented to the 7 new receiver municipalities, together with the Transfer Phase timeline and expected outputs. Partners will jointly plan the roadmap that will guide each receiver territory through its own Start Park co-design process, discussing barriers, opportunities and local governance arrangements.
The second day will take partners to Ferla, one of URWAN’s original pilot sites, for a study visit to the Wall2Water installation and a screening of the short film ‘Gocce di Rugiada’ (Drops of Dew), before turning to the practical planning of Start Park activities for each of the new receiver territories.
The meeting also includes a dedicated session on communication and visibility, and a first look at the URWAN School, the capacity-building event that will bring all receiver municipalities to Rome in early 2027.
From Rome, Cuba and Larnaka to Avellino, Alzira, Durrës, Sesimbra, Palmela, Setúbal and Patras/Western Greece – the Transfer Phase keeps moving forward across the Mediterranean.
