On 11 June 2026 (09:30–13:00), the URWAN project will host a dedicated side event in Brussels, coordinated by ANCI Lazio and held at the Lazio Region Office.
This event will explore how urban green spaces can be reimagined as democratic landscapes, where water, nature, and communities interact through participatory processes, artistic practices, and collective care. Bringing together policymakers, researchers, urban practitioners, and local stakeholders, the event will foster dialogue on nature-based solutions, water-sensitive urban design, and inclusive governance models.
Participants will engage with practical experiences and case studies emerging from the URWAN project and beyond, highlighting innovative approaches to urban regeneration, community engagement, and environmental sustainability. The discussion will connect local practices with European policy frameworks, contributing to ongoing debates on how to shape more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable cities.
The event will also provide a space for networking and knowledge exchange, encouraging collaboration across cities and regions involved in the Interreg Euro-MED Programme.
