Rome to host the Inauguration of the URWAN Demonstration Space for Urban Climate Resilience on 25 June

On 25 June 2026, the URWAN Demonstration Space will be inaugurated in Rome at the “Matteo Ricci” Comprehensive School (Municipality IX), as a pilot initiative showcasing Nature-based Solutions for urban climate resilience, sustainable water management, and heat mitigation.
The URWAN project, co-funded by the Interreg Euro-MED Programme, is coordinated by ANCI Lazio, acting as institutional and territorial coordination partner. Municipality IX of Rome Capital is an associated project partner, while the “Matteo Ricci” Comprehensive School hosts the demonstration site and contributes to educational and awareness-raising activities for students and the local community.
The event will feature Svetlana Celli, President of the Rome Capitoline Assembly; Titti Di Salvo, President of Municipality IX of Rome Capital; and Riccardo Varone, Vice-President of ANCI Lazio, together with institutional representatives and project stakeholders.
Il 25 giugno 2026 sarà inaugurato a Roma, presso l’Istituto Comprensivo “Matteo Ricci” (Municipio IX), lo Spazio Dimostrativo URWAN, un intervento pilota dedicato alle Nature-based Solutions per la resilienza climatica urbana, la gestione sostenibile delle acque e la riduzione degli effetti del caldo estremo.
Il progetto URWAN, cofinanziato dal programma Interreg Euro-MED, è coordinato da ANCI Lazio, che svolge il ruolo di partner istituzionale e di raccordo territoriale. Il Municipio IX di Roma Capitale è partner associato del progetto, mentre l’Istituto Comprensivo “Matteo Ricci” ospita il sito dimostrativo e contribuisce alle attività educative e di sensibilizzazione rivolte alla comunità scolastica e al territorio.
All’evento interverranno Svetlana Celli, Presidente dell’Assemblea Capitolina, Titti Di Salvo, Presidente del Municipio IX di Roma Capitale, e Riccardo Varone, Vicepresidente di ANCI Lazio, insieme a rappresentanti istituzionali e stakeholder del progetto.
