Within the scope of the URWAN project, a co-design session was held with students from the Escola Básica Fialho de Almeida in Cuba, inviting them to reflect, imagine, and share ideas about the school’s outdoor spaces.
Using the Start Park methodology, students were challenged to envision a greener and more comfortable playground prepared to face climate challenges, exploring themes such as shade, water, nature, and well-being.
The session reinforced the importance of including children’s voices in the design of educational spaces, highlighting their creativity and practical vision for more inclusive and sustainable environments.
This initiative represents an important step toward creating school spaces better adapted to climate challenges while promoting active participation and environmental awareness among younger generations.
