As part of the URWAN project, a co-design workshop was held at Escola Básica Fialho de Almeida, bringing together teachers, non-teaching staff, families, municipal representatives, and partner organizations for a collaborative reflection process.
Through the Start Park methodology, participants were invited to imagine a more resilient and comfortable outdoor school space, addressing climate-related challenges such as extreme weather events, water scarcity, and the quality of outdoor learning environments, using Nature-Based Solutions (NBS).
The workshop reinforced the importance of active participation and collaborative work in shaping more inclusive, sustainable, and future-ready schools.
The event highlighted the collective commitment of the local community to transforming school spaces into environments that support learning, well-being, and climate adaptation.
